Karl Olsen’s obsession with boats is rooted in his 50 years of experience on salt water. When he was a boy growing up on the Connecticut shore, there was just one choice in how to spend weekends and summers: on a boat—or not. His earliest nautical experience included racing sailing dinghies and tooling around in small outboard skiffs on Long Island Sound. Since then, family cruises have taken him from Virginia up to the northern reaches of Maine.

“I began messing about in boats at the ripe old age of 4 and by now I’ve owned and/or operated 13 different boats, sail and power, so I’m pretty knowledgeable with all, or anyway most, types of boat-building and nautical systems.”

Prior to joining Yachting Solutions, Karl had a career as an executive with leadership roles in some of the largest life and health insurance providers in the US. “I am delighted now to be able to do something I really love—and I look forward to working with our clients on things we’re all passionate about.”
